River House Apartments is in a convenient location that allows its residents to have a number of choices when traveling. Whether it is taking your car to work, taking the bus to MacArthur Center for a day of shopping, or riding The Tide to see the Norfolk Tides in action at Harbor Park, River House allows you the option to "choose your ride."
Proud to be constructed at the same time as of one of the most anticipated projects to ever take place in all of Hampton Roads, River House will be within minutes from a number of the stations in which the new light rail system will run.
The Tide is planned to open in 2010 and will extend 7.4 miles on an east to west alignment from the Eastern Virginia Medical Center through downtown Norfolk, continuing along the Norfolk Southern right-of-way, adjacent to I-264, to Newtown Road. Eleven stations will be constructed along the route with four park and ride locations that provide access to major areas such as Norfolk State University, Tidewater Community College (Norfolk Campus), Harbor Park, City Hall, MacArthur Center, and the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Taking The Tide will allow residents to save money on gas, save time by avoiding traffic, and also improve the environment by cutting carbon dioxide output. For a wealth of information on The Tide check out... www.ridethetide.com
The HRT Route 1 bus line with easy access to downtown Norfolk is within walking distance to River House as well. The closest bus stop is at Granby St. and 42nd Streets. Click the following link to find out additional information... www.gohrt.com/routes/Route%201.pdf
